About Us
Crystal Bridge Fish Farm has been in operation in the aquaculture industry for over 14 years. We are located just thirty miles outside of Louisville, KY where there is a diverse mix of residents, restaurants and farm operations. The farm's aquaculture activities began with a half acre pond in 1998 and grew to 3.5 acres in 2008.

Food and Pond Stocking
Our ponds were designed for polyculture production of fresh water shrimp and tilapia and have consistently produced over 2,000 pounds of prawn and 4,000 pounds of tilapia per acre. We sell live "seafood" which can only be purchased through local producers. Our indoor facilities allow for the holding of live market size species into early winter, which lengthens the market window for live and fresh sales. In addition, making locally produced juvenile red claws available will create the opportunity for new growers to become involved in the industry.
Crystal Bridge Farms has a very successful working relationship with the expert staff at KSU. We have already had much interest expressed by County Extension Agents, and vocational-agriculture school programs regarding the new red claw production. We currently supply red claws to high schools and farmers/aquaculturists around the state. We also intend to market and sell red claws to restaurants around the area. Crystal Bridge will provide red claws to approximately 15 - 20 high school vocational-agriculture classes within Kentucky for stocking and also provide a readily available market outlet for harvested product.
